1. Set up a home office
For employees who work from home a lot, it is important to have a work space. This could be in a different room, but it could also be in your own corner with a desk and a desk chair. Advise your employees to make sure they can retreat to their own space at home which feels like an office.
2. Set up a fixed schedule
‘Productivity’ and ‘planning’ are the key words for employee who work from home. It is tempting to do all kinds of chores around the house and procrastinate on your work. But this is not what working from home is all about. Let your employees set up a fixed working schedule, so that they have planned working hours. This also makes it easier for them to communicate to their families when they’re not supposed to be disturbed.
3. Working with a task list
A to do list of tasks that can be checked off often does wonders for productivity. That way you can keep organised and will stay motivated to finish everything. Advise your employees to make a to do list before their working day or week starts, so that they can be focused in their work.
